New York Mets MLB Betting Offers & Odds

The New York Mets fashioned one of the greatest upsets in baseball history when they won the 1969 World Series. The Amazin’ Mets, as they were known, had never posted a winning season since joining the National League as an expansion team in 1962 until that magical campaign.

The Mets added a second World Series title in 1986. They came back from 3-2 down to beat the Boston Red Sox in seven games. Oddly enough, Dave Johnson, who made the final out for the Baltimore Orioles when they lost the 1969 World Series to the Mets, managed the 1986 Mets to the title.

There’s been quite the dry spell ever since. The Mets lost the 2000 World Series to the crosstown New York Yankees in five games. They fell in five games to the Kansas City Royals in the 2015 World Series.

There was a belief that 2021 would be the year of a Mets resurgence and for much of the summer, it was not a belief without substance. From April 13 through August 6, the Mets held at least a share of first place in the NL East every day. They led the division by as much as 5.5 games on more than one occasion.

The Mets entered the month of August leading the NL East by 4.5 games. However, a 1-8 start to the month saw them slide out of top spot. Today, the chances of the Mets qualifying for the postseason appear remote. However, odds are still being offered on the possibilities.

World Series Wagers

Bettors who want to back the Mets to win the World Series can still do so. New York’s NL club is given odds of +7500 to capture the Fall Classic.

NY sportsbooks are also offering a series of exact World Series matchups at Draftkings NY featuring the Mets.  A Houston Astros-Mets World Series is set at +11000. The Mets vs the Chicago White Sox is +13000. If it’s the Tampa Bay Rays and the Mets, that’s at odds of +15000.

A Mets-Yankees series is at a betting line of +30000, while a rematch of the 1986 Fall Classic with the Red Sox garners odds of +45000. The Toronto Blue Jays offer +50000 odds to meet the Mets in the World Series.

Either the Royals or the Detroit Tigers against the Mets in the World Series would provide bettors with odds of +100000.

NLCS Champs

New York’s Mets lost in the National League Championship Series in 1988, 1999 and 2006.

They are listed at +3500 to win the 2021 NLCS.

NL East Odds

It’s been since 2006 that the Mets have ruled over the NL East.

Currently in third place in the division, bettors can access +1200 odds that the Mets will rally and regain the division crown.

Individual Honors

Mets middle infielders Javier Baez and Francisco Lindor, first baseman Pete Alonso and starting pitcher Jacob deGrom are all listed with betting lines of +15000 to win the NL MVP Award. Second baseman Jeff McNeil would garner odds of +20000 as NL MVP.

In the NL Cy Young Award betting lines, deGrom is at +25000. He was the preseason favorite, but arm woes derailed deGrom’s season.

In both 2018 and 2019, deGrom won the NL Cy Young Award.
