According to the 2016’s New York State legislation, daily fantasy sports is legal and regulated under the supervision of NY State Gaming Commission. DraftKings and FanDuel are the two biggest DFS giants in the State.
But there comes a major twist, On Oct 26, 2018 ruling a State Supreme Court judge struck down a part of 2016′ law but it did not criminalize the DFS sports in New York. And, both DraftKings and FanDuel are legally allowed to run their business.
Thus, we can say at present daily fantasy sports are legal in New York. Further, the final outcome will be decided by the State’s appeal and Court’s decision.
